Laura Hormigón

PhD in Musicology, researcher, historian and author. She was a principal dancer with the National Ballet of Cuba for ten years and now focuses her work on ballet history in Spain, Romantic ballet and Marius Petipa.

Óscar Torrado

International dancer, choreographer, artistic director, university lecturer and researcher. He was a principal dancer with the National Ballet of Cuba from 1995 to 2005 and currently works extensively in artistic direction, choreography and higher dance education.

Television and public engagement

From 2001 to 2008, Laura Hormigón and Óscar Torrado collaborated for eight years with RTVE on El Conciertazo, the programme directed by Fernando Argenta that introduced classical music and ballet to children and family audiences.

El Conciertazo

They worked as performers, presenters, scriptwriters and ballet communicators, combining explanations and demonstrations with excerpts from the classical repertoire accompanied by a live orchestra.

Dance outreach

Alongside their television work, through Danzarte Ballet they developed projects introducing audiences to classical ballet, including ¡Va de Danza!, ¡Viva el Ballet Clásico! and the Ballet en familia campaigns.
